Robert Scott

Mr Robert Scott has a BA in Social Anthropology, an MSc in Development Studies, and an MA in History. Since 2021 Mr Scott has been an Elder and co-pastor of a small church among Bangladeshi people in East London. It is a bilingual church that meets in both English and Sylheti language (the heart language of around 100,000 Bangladeshi Muslim people in the local area). Prior to that Mr Scott served as Director of Missions at St Helen’s Bishopsgate, a conservative Anglican congregation. In the 1990s, he worked for an NGO in Bangladesh and then with the World Health Organisation. He has completed the Cornhill Training Course (a yearlong certificate in exegesis and preaching) and has studied doctrine, ethics, church history, and church planting modules at Oak Hill Theological College. He teaches part-time at Cornhill and Oak Hill on Islamic Studies, and is author of Dear Abdullah: Eight Questions Muslim People Ask About Christianity (Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 2011) and Sharing the Gospel with a Muslim Neighbour (Leyland, England: 10Publishing, 2021). He is currently working on a book about Sylheti followers of Jesus.
